2013 Budget Hearing

MINUTES SUBJECT TO APPROVAL
Chairman Darryl Weber called 2013 Town of Oregon Budget Hearing to order at 6:00 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2012. Clerk Denise Arnold was present along with five residents of the Town of Oregon.
Clerk Arnold presented the budget worksheet. Notable items discussed included the increase in election expenses due to six elections in 2012. The Oregon Area Fire EMS District (OAFED) had a special assessment in 2012. To cover operating expense the Town of Dunn took out an additional loan for OAFED and the Town of Oregon paid a portion of that also. The major road work budget was exceeded and the equipment budget will be carried to the following year. The Shared Revenue will stay the same along with the State Highway Aid. The local budget will increase 3.3% in 2013.
Chair Weber closed the Public Hearing at 6:20.
Chair Weber called the Special Town of Oregon Meeting of the Electors to order.
Motion made by Bob Johnson and seconded by Sharon Christensen to approve the highway expenditures over $5,000. per mile. Motion carried.
Motion made by Chris Johnson and seconded by Bob Johnson to maintain the same pay scale for the Town Board elected officials salaries with no change in 2013. Motion carried.
Motion made by Phil Van Kampen and seconded by Steve Root to approve the Tax Levy of $847,885. for 2012 taxes payable in 2013. Motion carried.
Chair Weber inquired if there were any other items of business. There being none the next item on the agenda was addressed.
Motion made by Phil Van Kampen and seconded by Chris Johnson to adjourn the Special Meeting of the Town of Oregon Electors. Motion carried
