Caucus - January 12, 2008 2:00 p.m.
Chairperson Darryl Weber called the Caucus to order at 2:00 p.m. The Clerk, Denise Arnold reminded residents to sign in and explained the process of the caucus. Twenty-Six residents signed in to vote. Weber requested the assistance of two tellers, Carlene Bechen and Janine Jensen. Two Board Supervisors positions are available for the spring 2008 election. Pen Beasley shared that she would not be running for re-election.
The residents were instructed to nominate a total of two candidates for supervisor. Ballots were distributed and collected by the tellers. The following individuals were nominated:
Caucus teller Carlene Bechen stepped down and Linda Jackson assumed the position. There were more than four nominees as a result a vote was necessary to reduce the number of candidates. Ballots were distributed to the residents by the tellers and Chair Weber instructed electors to vote for two candidates. The votes were tabulated as follows:
The Clerk and Caucus teller Janine Jensen conducted a drawing to establish the order in which the candidates would be listed on the spring ballot.
Board Chair Darryl Weber thanked the residents for attending and participating in the 2008 Caucus. The Caucus adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
