The monthly meeting for the Town Board of the Town of Oregon was held on Wednesday, October 6, 2004. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson, Gerald Jensen at 7:30 p.m. with Supervisors Wayne Ace, Rick Andersen, Darryl Weber and Pen Beasley. There were nine other persons in attendance.
MMS/Andersen-Ace to approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried. MMS/Weber-Andersen to accept the treasurer’s report given by Treasurer, Rhonda LaFlash showing a balance of $565,587.48 in the general account. Vouchers for $89,169.02 were approved.
MMS/Weber-Andersen to approve CUP #1925, submitted by Bob and Diane Kelly, 4864 Rome Corners Rd., for dependency living. Ken & Lois Hagemann supported this petition. Motion carried. This CUP was recommended approval by the Plan Comm.
MMS/Andersen-Weber to approved the CUP #1916, submitted by Payne & Dolan on Lloyd & Ruth Klahn’s farm, 157 CTH MM, Brooklyn, with the conditions listed on the submittal with the deletion of the Village of Brooklyn as additional insured. Motion carried unanimously with Jensen abstaining.
MMS/Ace-Weber to approve an increase of the cost of tires, with rims, recycled at the TORC to an additional $20 cost. Motion carried.
MMS/Ace-Andersen to approve the purchase of a Woods #2120 from Carter &Gruenewald. The price is $8,900-2,300 (trade-in) = $6,600. Motion carried. MMS/Ace-Weber to approve the purchase of a broom for the Bobcat for $3,475. Motion carried.
MMS/Weber-Beasley to order two new picnic tables, one handicapped, for the Town Park as recommended by the Park Comm. Motion carried. Steve Root said an Eagle Scout would be working on the trail in the Town Park on Saturdays, October 9th & 16th.
Cable TV meeting with be on Monday, November 29th.

Clerk, Ruth Klahn, gave a report from the WI Town’s Association, including ACT, new voting regulations, Urban Towns and insurance liability. New estimated population for the Town of Oregon is 3276 for 1/1/04.
Andersen alerted that we might need a CLOSED SESSION for the Joint Board for the Oregon Fire Dist. The meeting might also include discussion of the Building Inspector.
