The regular monthly meeting for the Town of Oregon was held on Tuesday, July 6th, at the Oregon Town Hall. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson, Gerald Jensen, at 7:30 p.m. with supervisors: Rick Andersen & Pen Beasley present with Wayne Ace & Darryl Weber absent. There were 11 other persons in attendance.

MMS/Andersen-Beasley to approve the minutes of the June 1st. Motion carried. MMS/Andersen-Beasley to accept Treasurer, Rhonda LaFlash’s report showing a balance of $655,249.87. Motion carried. Vouchers for $64,375.76 were approved.

MMS/Andersen-Beasley to approve the operator’s license for Dustin Schultz. Constable, Gary Wachett reported that the background check was ok. Motion carried.

MMS/Andersen-Beasley to approve a variance for a 15” squash culvert instead of 18” for Fred Clark on Tipperary Rd. MMS/Jensen-Andersen to agree that Fred met the substantial farm income for a new house without rezoning his property. Both motions carried. MMS/Andersen-Beasley to approve the use of the existing farm house for help. If the person who lives there, no longer works on the farm, the house must be removed or rezoned. Motion carried.

Larry Schulz, of Ahwahnee Ct., appeared to address speed in Ravenoaks. He suggested speed bumps as cars approach the Stop sign at Sun Valley Pkwy. Deputies Leslie Fox and Dawn Barger also appeared to say that they have set up radar and issued one ticket. They will continue to monitor the area. Constable Wackett will contact the Village of Oregon to use the speed board.

Steve Root, Chr., invited the board to walk with the Park Comm. through the Town parks on Monday, July 12th meeting at the hall at 6:30 p.m.

Rick Andersen reported that the Brooklyn ETZ Comm. voted not to extend the extra territorial interim ordinance. The Village of Brooklyn also voted to not extend the ordinance.

Pen Beasley said that nothing has happened with the Cable Comm.

MMS/Jensen-Andersen to approve the CSM submitted by Steve Forrer. This is the parcel that was just removed from the Brooklyn ETZ. Motion carried.

Clerk reported that Kris Schutte as the acting Assistant Zoning Administrator taking Steve Reynolds place.
