The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Oregon was held on Tuesday, December 1, 2004. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson, Gerald Jensen, at 7 p.m. with Supervisors; Wayne Ace, Rick Andersen, Pen Beasley and Darryl Weber present. There were five others persons in attendance.
MMS/Andersen-Weber to approve the minutes of November 3rd. Motion carried. MMS/Ace-Weber to accept the treasurer’s report as given. Motion carried.
Dane Co. Deputy, Kimberly Derse, reported about activity in the Town of Oregon. She said that there has been some burglaries. She reminded to be sure that houses and cars are locked. Board asked that she check on Dane Co. responsibility on Lincoln Road.
All in favor of both motions as recommended by the Plan Comm.
MMS/Weber-Ace to approve the CUP #1933, submitted by Paul Morrison, for a limited family business. Motion carried.
MMS/Ace-Weber to accept the responsibility for Dane Co. portion of the taxes. Motion carried.
Dan Phelps reported on a meeting for American Transmission Co. They are planning a new line crossing Dane Co. for upgrading the electricity. The route is yet to be determined. Their choices are (1) use existing utility right-of-way, (2) use a county road, (3) use existing recreational right-of-way, or (4) buy new right-of-way.
An annexation petition has been received for a lot on Netherwood Rd., owned by Oregon Business Center.
Discussion was held regarding the options available for Presidential Lane and access for Roland Cross property.
Caucus set for Saturday, January 15th at 2 p.m. MMS/Weber-Andersen to approve list of election inspectors for a two year term as submitted. Motion carried.
MMS/Andersen-Ace to approve the purchase of a brush truck for the Oregon Fire/EMS District before the end of the year because of the price. Approve purchase price up to $65,000. Item has been budgeted for 2005.
MMS/Weber-Andersen to send the Site Plan Ordinance to Atty Bechler for final approval. Park Comm. recommended keeping the Park Road closed until the ruts can be repaired in the spring. MMS/Andersen-Beasley to keep the road closed past the start of DST in the spring. Motion carried.
Beasley reported on of Cable TV meeting on November 29th. Tim Vowel said the contract is up for renewal. Suggested a 4% franchise fee. The cabinet is being installed on S. Fish Hatchery Road.
MMS/Weber-Beasley to approve the contract with Dane Co. for Voter Registration. Motion carried. MMS/Weber-Andersen to pay Robert Everson and Jay Gould for the ETZ Committee work and include it in the bill for the Village of Brooklyn. Motion carried.
Set CLOSED SESSION meeting for Tuesday, December 21st at 7 p.m. to discuss advertising for clerk’s position, Or Fire-EMS, personnel and Presidential Lane. Discussed vehicles parked illegally on Crestwood Dr.
