The regular monthly meeting for the Town Board of the Town of Oregon was held on Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at the Town Hall. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson, Gerald Jensen, at 8:40 p.m. after the Spring Election. We thank the election workers for moving to the office to finish their work. Supervisors: Rick Andersen, Linda Jackson, Darryl Andersen and Wayne Ace were present. There were 12 other persons in attendance.
MMS/Andersen-Jackson to approve the minutes of the March meeting as read by Clerk, Ruth Klahn. Motion carried. MMS/Weber to accept the Treasurer, Rhonda LaFlash report showing a balance of $623,038.26 in the general account. Motion carried. Vouchers for $35,941.44 were approved.
Weber reported that a Work Session for the Plan Comm. will be held on April 15th at 8:30 p.m. and the regular Plan Comm. meeting on April 27th.
Road bids will be opened at the May meeting. Constable, Gary Wackett, reported that the roads in Fahey Heights and Oregon Territory are breaking up.
Jackson reported that the Web Site is up and running. Jackson asked to help keep the Web site running. MMS/Andersen-Weber to have Jackson draft a position description and bring it to the May meeting. Motion carried.
Andersen reported that an ETZ meeting will be held on 6:30 p.m. on April 15th to make a decision regarding the CUP application for Payne & Dolan. They will recommend to the Oregon Town Board and the Village of Brooklyn.
There was no Park meeting. Jackson reported that she and the Village of Oregon are working on a 2 year agreement for the Access channels 12 & 4. We will pay the Village 1% of our franchise fee. Andersen said that he will be one of the negotiation team with the Union for the Oregon Fire Dist.
Weber asked Jackson for her opinion regarding the extension of the interim ETZ. She said that if she voted today she would vote against extension.
Discussion on Ralph Bergeland driveway. Recommended Weber & Jensen to talk with Ralph. Ace recommended a $50 gift certificate for Shelly Kadow for her work on our newsletter. Need inspections for driveway and review the permit fee.
