Town of Oregon
Plan Commission Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, July 16, 2013
1. Call Plan Commission meeting to order.
Town of Oregon Plan Commission Chair Weber called the Plan Commission meeting to order 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. In attendance were Darryl Weber, Tom Wiedenbeck, Dave Hagemann, Sharon Christensen and Deputy Clerk, Jennifer Hanson. Absent were Paul Morrison, Andy Blomstrom and Brian Duffin.
2. Approval of minutes from the last meeting.
Motion made by Hagemann and seconded by Wiedenbeck to approve the June18, 2013 meeting minutes. Motion carries. Christensen clarified that Purdin is allowed to build either the second or third building in Phase II, but is not required to build both buildings.
3. Public Comments.
There were no public comments.
4. Discussion and possible Action re: Alliant tree planting on Netherwood Rd.
Nancy Murphy, 5844 Madsen Circle, asked about why there are still two sets of poles on Netherwood Rd. Weber believes that Alliant is waiting for the other utilities to transfer over to the new poles. Ms. Murphy also discussed the Friends of Anderson Park group. Anderson Park has a lot of invasive species that need to be removed and is in need of clean-up. The county may offer chain sawing training to volunteers interested in helping. Because Friends of Anderson Park is trademarked, the group is looking at changing their name.
5. Discussion and possible Action re: TORC procedures.
Hagemann mentioned that residents are happy with the all-in-one recycling compactor. There has been an increase in the collection of recyclables, especially cardboard. Weber asked about placing an ad for a pool of employees to work Saturdays at the TORC on a rotating basis. Christensen suggested placing an ad on the town’s website. Weber asked for everyone to think of a small ad to place and report back next month.
6. Discussion and possible Action re: Town’s Submittal Application for Land Division, Rezones, and CUP.
Deputy Clerk Hanson mentioned that the office was getting a quote from Municipal Code to have the town’s ordinances re-codified. There have been several ordinances passed or changed since the codification and this would bring the codification book up-to-date. Weber would also like to get a second estimate, possibly from MSA.
Weber gave an update on the town’s road construction for Glenway Road. The road crew has tried to limit the traffic on Glenway due to the dust, but paving should be completed soon.
Motion made by Christensen seconded by Hagemann to adjourn the meeting at 6:55 p.m. Motion carries.
