Town of Oregon Plan Commission Meeting Minutes
May 30, 2006

Present: Paul Morrison, Andy Blomstrom, Darryl Weber, Sharon Christensen, Dave Hagemann, Brian Duffin and Clerk Denise Arnold. Absent: Lloyd Klahn.

Four guests present.

Chairperson Darryl Weber called the Public Hearing to order at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 30, 2006.

1. Zoning Amendment; Petition #9532; Section 34; Parcel #0509-344-8700-0 & 0509-344-9000-9; currently zoned RH-1 and A-1 Ex. Property is owned by Craig and Rachel Schley. Petitioner is the same. Request to relocate building site. NOTICE: This is replacing petition #9385 approved in January 2006. Petitioner/Surveyor made an error in calculating the building site location.

Mr. Schley explained there had been a communication problem regarding the placement of the dwelling at the building site with the surveyor. The dwelling would be too close to the adjacent property so the building site needs to be moved. The driveway would remain the same.

The Public Hearing was closed at 6:45 p.m.

Plan Commission Chairperson Darryl Weber called the Plan Commission to order at 6:45 p.m. Brian Duffin made a motion to recommend petition number 9532 for Craig and Rachel Schley. The motion was seconded by Dave Hagemann. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Brian Duffin and seconded by Sharon Christensen to approve the minutes from the April 25th Plan Commission meeting as read. Motion carried.

Rich Fizzell of 895 Storytown Road inquired about splitting the 20.3 acre parcels he has owned for seven years. This parcel was a portion of the Lawrey Farm. Mr. Fizzell and his realtor wanted to know if the land could be split again for the purpose of selling a buildable lot. The Plan Commission advised Mr. Fizzell that it would be best if he had a density study done by Dane County. The split would be okay providing there is not a deed notice or restriction and could not be split again.

The Plan Commission discussed the progress of the Comprehensive Plan from the last two meetings held in May. There had been information shared regarding the conservation sub-division and a septic engineer had provided some useful information regarding ground water issues.

The Plan Commission discussed the possibility of having Alliant and ATC come in for the purpose of informing the residents exactly where the power lines will be should the

Town of Oregon site be chosen. There are some upcoming open house events that are being held by ATC for our residents. The Plan Commission will reconsider a meeting after the open house informational meetings have been held.

The current Town of Oregon ordinances regarding information about the Plan Commission were distributed. The ordinances are obsolete and need to be revised and updated. The Plan Commission will look at and review those to advise the Town Board of necessary amendments.

Motion made by Dave Hagemann and seconded by Sharon Christensen to adjourn the Plan Commission meeting at 7:55 p.m. Motion carried.
