TOWN OF OREGON PARK COMMITTEE
Monday, September 17, 2018 @ 6:32 pm
Present: Steve Root, Jeff Nelson and Al Miller. Absent: Robert Johnson. Open Position.
The minutes from the previous meeting were approved as written.
Steve gave an update of the town parks. The Raven Oaks Park trails need to be cut next year, but the open area and playground equipment are in good shape. The Town Park needs some brush cutting. The butterfly garden looks great. Kennedy park is in good shape even though parts are still underwater. Hillcrest Park was missed. The Bicentennial Park driveway needs gravel added and the trails require cutting. Steve is meeting with a volunteer to pull the timbers on the trails as requested by the town crew.
The park funds borrowed by the town board have been all been repaid. A CD will be renewed in December.
Steve is working on the bicycle path from the Village to the Town Park and possible grant funding.
Steve will present replacement benches at the October meeting.
There was a discussion about using park funds in the future for projects such as; trail systems at Kennedy Park and Town Park, additional signage at Town Park and pruning at the parks.
A neighbor complained about water coming from Kennedy Park. Steve will monitor the situation.
Tomorrow night is the Friends of Anderson Park meeting and someone will talk about monarch butterflies.
The next Park Committee meeting is Monday, October 8, 2018.
Al moved, seconded by Jeff to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
