The minutes from the previous meeting were approved as written.
The town board approved hiring a part-time employee to mow the town parks at a rate of $12.00 per hour. The job will include mowing of all the town parks, the town hall, cemetery and possibly Anderson County Park. The position would be 15-25 hours per week.
Ryan is getting estimates for a new park mower. Ace offered for the town to cover a portion of the cost to purchase a four-wheel drive mower.
Bob received two quotes from Signs By Tomorrow and Fast Signs, but prefers the metal sign from Fast Signs. The quotes were priced identical, $95 and $96. Al moved to approve bid from Fast Signs and Bob seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Linda discussed the location of the butterfly garden at the town park. The location is about 600 square feet. The cost would be $1,380.00 for plantings. This area could be prepped in fall and planted in spring. The middle and high schools will be contacted for providing plants. A site visit will be planned.
The pruning and tree trim was completed at the Town Park. Steve will meet with Arbor Systems to discuss future tree trimming plans for the Town Park. Steve will be getting two quotes for tree trimming at Kennedy Park.
Steve will contact Fahrner to discuss the parking lot at the Town Park. It hasn’t held up as well as they thought.
Steve discussed installing recycling containers in the town parks.
The burning that occurred on village park property was handled by Constable Maher.
There was discussion about the bike path at the Anderson County Park. The county would like a letter from both the town and village in support of the bike path. The village wants a letter from the town for support to continue the Rotary bike trail to the Badger bike trail. The City of Fitchburg is also in support of this project.
Steve and Wayne toured the town parks with Constable Maher. Two warning have been issued for dogs off leash.
The next park meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 10, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.
