TOWN OF OREGON PARK COMMITTEE
Tuesday, September 14, 2015 @ 6:36pm
Present: Steve Root, Robert Johnson and Jeff Nelson
Absent: Josh Nordstrum and Al Miller
Also Present: Ryan Wood
The meeting was called to order.
The minutes from the previous meeting were approved as written.
Ryan Wood with Troop 168 appeared to report on his finished Eagle Scout Project. Ryan did trail restoration at the Bi-Centennial Park. Steve walked the trail and it looked great. Steve asked Ryan to attend the Town Board meeting on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. There was no cost for this Eagle Scout project.
The Town Park parking lot and trail have been sealed by Fahrner. The total cost was $4665.00. The Village will paint the parking strips. The town board decided to not seal the road. Mulch was put underneath the swing set by public works. There is a broken chain that Steve will replace. The park signs have been ordered by Bob.
Arlan Kay was selected as the newest member of the Plan Commission. Steve will ask him to design the walk up entrance sign to the Town Park and that design can be used for an Eagle Scout Project.
The brush cutter has been order and will arrive during the end of September. The brush cutter will cost about $8,300. The town will cover half the cost of upgrading the bobcat. There is additional cost for wiring the bobcat, approximately $1,500. This could be an annual cost as the bobcat is upgraded yearly.
The next park committee meeting will be held on October 12, 2015 at 6:30pm.
Jeff moved to adjourn and Bob seconded the motion. Motion carried.
