Monday September 13, 2010 @ 6:30PM
Present: Steve Root, Janine Jensen, Mark Brylski
Also present: Chris Johnson
The meeting was called to order by Steve Root.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.
Steve reported that the Town Board approved the Eagle Scout's design for the gazebo at the Town Hall for a price of $1500 for materials and $316.88 for the path. The paperwork for Garret Frankson's project is in the Council's hand for final approval. His proposed work dates are September 18th and 26th from 12 – 4pm. Denise, the clerk has been informed and will not rent out the hall for those dates.
Steve reported that the Board agreed to re-survey Ravenoaks Park and hire an arborist to determine and remove any dead or dying trees. The suggestion was made to talk with Ken West to see if he might recall the original boundaries. If he can't, then Steve will contact the local surveyor. The committee is going to request that stakes be installed when the boundaries have been determined. When the boundaries have been established, the tree service will be hired to clean up the dead trees. Mark made the suggestion that after the boundaries are marked, that the committee jointly walk the site. The committee agreed.
Harlan Heller from the Town crew approached Steve about potentially using a brush hog in the Bicentennial Park, which has many overgrown trails. This would help clear out around the nature trails and could be used in the Town Park where there are overgrown trails also.
Steve informed the committee that he had not contacted Kathy Esch about the possible stress of the Linden trees within Kennedy Park. The reason for this is that several Linden trees around the area appear to be suffering from the same stress.
The Eagle Scout who is interested in the Della Street Park project has not communicated with the committee and hasn't contacted Mark Brylski to meet within the park.
Steve has not heard anything from Kathy Esch about a fall tree planting project, so the committee assumes that one has not been planned.
The committee is waiting for bids for woodchips for around playground equipment. If a good bid comes in, the committee will request chips for this fall yet.
The next meeting will be Monday, October 25, 2010 @ 6:30pm. The next 2 meetings were also set: Monday, November 15th and Monday, December 6th, both at 6:30 pm.
Mark moved to adjourn and Steve seconded the motion. Motion carried.
