Monday June 5, 2006 @ 6:30PM
Present: Steve Root, Janine Jensen, Bob Johnson
The meeting was called to order by Steve Root.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read. Bob moved and Steve seconded the motion to approve as read. Motion carried.
Steve reported to the committee that the vandalism in Kennedy Park caused $8,870.79 of damages. The replacement equipment was delivered to the Town Hall on June 2nd, with installation scheduled for June 7th. The Town crew will take the equipment to the park. After some discussion, Bob moved and Steve seconded the motion to request that the crew trim the weeds prior to the installation of the equipment and secondly, then take the bobcat over to the park to spread the fibermat for expediency. The park committee would cover their time to do the work. Motion carried. Steve will present the recommendation to the Town Board. Kathy Esch called Steve to inform him that another 4-5 new trees were planted in Kennedy Park.
The Town crew went through the Town Park and reviewed all of the downed trees for removal. They also swept the paths. Steve has re-sanded the picnic table to clear it of grafitti. The committee will retrieve a donated cement picnic table from Neil and Nancy Denton on June 12th. The committee would like to thank them for their gift. The posts were not purchased in conjunction with the county. The crew was able to buy them cheaper from Menards. Steve will verify with the crew when installation is planned.
The Town Board approved the request made by the Cub Scout Pack #352 from Brooklyn for using the Town Park Road on September 16, 2006 for a soapbox derby. There were some concerns about parking. The Pack will report back to the committee as their plans develop.
The next meeting has been scheduled for June 26, 2006 at 6:30pm and then the next meeting will be July 31st.
Bob moved to adjourn and Steve seconded the motion. Motion carried.
