The meeting was called to order by Steve Root.

Steve reported to the committee about the vandalism in Kennedy Park. In the first case, 2 slides were destroyed and a second set was destroyed 3 days later. Also, the Tic-Tac-Toe set was destroyed. An estimate of the cost is approximately $5,000. The vendor, GameTime is trying to get a closer estimate. So far, there are no suspects and the Dane County Sheriff’s office is investigating. However, the good news is that on April 8th, 12 new trees were planted in Kennedy Park. These trees were pin oaks and maples from Jack Mitchell’s nursery. Five adults and several young people planted the trees. The committee would like to thank Jack Mitchell for these donated trees. All newly planted trees were stacked.
Steve reported that there had been a large party at the Town Park. One neighbor complained that a large amount of trash was left in the park. The town crew was notified and cleaned it up. The posts have been purchased for the road and parking lot and the crew will soon meet with Steve to determine the proposed location. The posts that were purchased are 12’ lengths. The fibermat has been ordered for delivery on April 26th for the Town Park and Kennedy Park. However, the work at Kennedy Park will be after the repair of the equipment, which may take 6-8 weeks. Also, the trash receptacle has disappeared, and the replacement will need to be cemented in.
The Town crew also went through the Bicentennial Park and looked at all of the downed trees for removal.
Steve reported that he will be meeting with Troop 50 on Tuesday, April 18th to discuss potential Eagle Scout projects.
The first work day is scheduled for Saturday, April 29th at 8:30 AM and all those interested are encouraged to help. The work will be in the Town Park only, due to the vandalism. Cub Scout Pack #352 from Brooklyn will assist with the work. Due to the delay with Kennedy Park, the second work day, May 13th will again be in the Town Park to do concrete work for the picnic tables and bike rack.
Cub Scout Pack #352 from Brooklyn has requested using Town Park Road on September 16, 2006 for a soapbox derby. Steve moved to approve the request and Bob seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The next meeting has been scheduled for May 22, 2006 at 6:30pm.
Bob moved to adjourn and Steve seconded the motion. Motion carried.
