NOTICE OF 2008 PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING
FOR THE TOWN OF OREGON DANE COUNTY

Notice is hereby given that on Thursday December 4, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Oregon Town Hall, a PUBLIC HEARING on the Proposed 2009 Budget of the Town of Oregon will be held. The proposed budget in detail is available for inspection at the town clerk's office from 8:00-12:00 a.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday or one-half hour before the hearing.

NOTE A Special Town Meeting will be held immediately following the Budget Hearing.

Approval of highway expenditures over $5,000. per mile
Approval of elected official salaries
Approval of the Tax Levy for 2008 taxes payable in 2009
Discussion & possible action that at the public hearing to be held prior to the January Caucus. The Board recommends to the electorate that:
1. The Town change the Assessor postion from an elected position to an appointed position.
2. Should the Electors vote to continue with en elected assessor the salary shall not be more than $11,900. so as to be in line with the cost of an apppointed assessor.
Approval to Hire a full time temporary Road Patrolman.
Approval to Hire an Employee for purpose of Building Inspections
Other Business as necessary
