TOWN OF OREGON ROAD & TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
Wednesday, September 29, 2010 Present: Chairman Wayne Ace, Dave Hagemann, Robert Kujawa The meeting was called to order at 7:05PM by Chairman Ace. The spreadsheet prepared by Dave Hagemann to assist in keeping sign inventory was reviewed. It was agreed that the Town Clerk could add new signs as necessary to the document. It was noted that several standard signs in use by the Town were missing from the document. There was a brief discussion regarding signs on the list that are no longer compliant. Mr. Kujawa suggested that these be recycled. Chairman Ace inquired about the need for replacing the Town weight limit signs. The current signs are engineer grade and will eventually need to be upgraded to the high intensity standard. There are likely 30 or more of these, and the upgrade will be costly. Mr. Kujawa noted that many of these signs will also need post replacement for minimum height standards and that many of the installations have been knocked by mowing, snow plowing, or wind. Chairman Ace asked those present to turn in worksheets for fall brush work. There was a discussion regarding various locations where yield signs had been upgraded to stop signs. Mr. Hagemann was going to re-check a few locations that might need to be changed, or had not yet been changed to stop signs. Chairman Ace indicated there was an item on the next Town Board agenda regarding a change in speed limit to 45MPH on several segments of road. This has been requested by Steve Root based on action the Town Board may have taken in previous years, but was never implemented. There were no communications. Motion by Dave Hagemann/Robert Kujawa to adjourn at 7:35 PM Respectfully submitted, Next meeting: No date or time was set.
