Committee reports:
-
Maps: (Gary Wackett) presented a sample map indicating the roads/fire numbers for the town. Discussion was held and Gary will further research different elements to be added to the map. The final map will be laminated and provide the ability to use erasable felt tip markers. Estimated cost about $600. Committee member, Town Supervisor, Phil VanKampen will inform the board of this project.
-
Training personnel in the use of radios: (Gary Wackett) asked that this be tabled as this is not a high priority at this time.
-
Back up generator: Darryl Weber was unable to attend the meeting; Bob Johnson will contact him to find out the status of the emergency generator for the town hall.
-
Train personnel in damage assessment: (Bob Johnson) John McLellan (Dane County) had not responded yet with dates that he was available for training. All arrangements will be final by the June 8th NIMS meeting.
-
Damage assessment schedule: A tentative list of trainees for NIMS damage assessment was generated by Gary Wackett. Bob Johnson will contact the personnel on this list plus any others that may be available to be trained to assist in damage assessment for the town.
-
ID tags (Leif Spilde - Brooklyn Fire Department) reported that Green County cannot provide us with ID tags. Bob Johnson reported that we can make ID tags in the town hall using Avery office products. Bob Johnson will supply several sample ID tags at the June meeting for the committee to evaluate. Gary Wackett indicated that he can arrange to have the ID tags laminated.
-
It was agreed that at the June meeting, the committee would start updating the Town of Oregon Emergency Management Plan. All members of the committee were given a copy of the Belleville Emergency Management Plan to review with the possibility of incorporating some of the better features of their plan into our plan as we review and update.
